This Is A Play is an online playwriting experiment that launched in January 2016. The project is an ongoing collaboration between playwright A.C. Smith and fine art photographer Julia Forsman.
This Is A Play has three aims:
- to investigate writing as a physical process by working with unconventional materials
- to make visible the process (as opposed to product) of creating work for the stage and demystify the act of writing
- to explore the possibility of inspiration as a shared enterprise through visual dialogue and creative collaboration
The project will culminate in a joint exhibition/performance of the work produced, and open discussions about the process.
